GLASS IS GREEN

Why choose glass and why glass is ‘green’

WHY GLASS?:
Statistics show:  truly a multitude of persons every day test the virtues of glass containers and packaging.  Glass was elected, in 17 European countries, as the best food and beverage container.
It is proven:  glass is the most recycled packaging material:  80% of European consumers recycle glass and this percentage rises to 86% in Italy.
Recent research revealed that 65% of consumers prefer glass because it better preserves the flavor of products and 63% , on the other hand, see it as safer for their health as well as suited, precisely due to the prestige it offers, to certain special occasions.
A goodly number of consumers, oriented towards an increasingly widespread “sustainable” lifestyle, judge glass to be “environmentally friendly’.
FLAVOR:  From the chemical standpoint glass is a homogeneous and inert material which preserves the flavor of its contents without turning to interior barriers or coatings.  It does not interact with the foodstuffs it contains, protects the flavor of food and beverages like no other material.  It does not need additives to safeguard freshness and aroma:  these are the reasons great chefs and those who love good dining overwhelmingly prefer glass, as well as producers of foodstuffs in general.

Glass keeps taste and freshness intact, is not harmful to health, is esthetically pleasing to behold, offers all its healthy, pure and transparent protection to consumers and gives a sensorial experience that goes above and beyond its simple material nature.

HEALTH and SAFETY:  Glass is a natural barrier against bacteria.  It is totally impermeable to oxygen, keeping food and beverages fresh and with all their vitamins, minerals and other beneficial components.
Glass is beneficial:  it preserves all nutritional values!  Glass containers have the absolute lowest chemical interaction with their contents.
Glass is safety, preferred since time immemorial for wine and beer.  And the propensity towards glass containers is great even when speaking of other categories of food and beverages and drink such as water, fruit juices, soft drinks and all milk-based products.
SUSTAINABILITY:  Glass is unquestionably  eco-friendly:  it is environmentally-friendly.
In recent years we have been learning a lot, becoming more aware of our health and, at the same time, giving greater weight and attention to protecting and monitoring the environment.

Glass can be recycled 100%
Glass is “green”.
It is a natural material.  Silica sand, sodium carbonate and calcium carbonate are the only elements that compose it and that make it always and in all cases recyclable.  It can be transformed, reconverted again and again:  old bottles become new bottles, old glasses new glasses, pots and jars become new pots and new jars and so on.   Shapes may change, with the same type of packaging or similar packaging, but quality remains unaltered.
